My Bullet Journal

Hey!
Since the start of the year, I have been using the Bullet Journal system to plan what to do. I've always wanted to use a planner but they are so expensive and I had bought one before and used it for 2 whole weeks! The great thing about the Bullet Journal is how personalised it is, you can put anything from blog stats to weekly expenses, and you can use any notebook you choose, mine is an IKEA notebook that was €3 as I wanted to try out it out before I bought a decent notebook.

How I found out about Bullet Journalling was through this video.

So far I'm using my Bullet Journal to write in events or activities through the month, blog ideas, blog stats, cover ideas and to do lists. I hope to start using it for more things.

Key and Colour Code System

Some blog posts and cover ideas
I find this works effectively especially with to do lists and putting things into the calendar. I don't use this every day but I use it when I have a lot of things to do or I need a bit of motivation.

My Daily To Dos
I used it for packing for Barcelona and I didn't forget anything which was awesome.

Of course mine is no work of art, I'm not very artistic but I enjoy experimenting with different colours and layouts and I find it very relaxing to do at the start of each month. I love thinking of pages to put in to it as there's no limit to what you can put into it.

These are a few ideas that came to me but I have no clue what I am going to do with them yet.
I think I'll find it great next year when I'm in 5th year *groan* and I have to fit in all my hobbies as well as homework and study but at the moment I'm using it for blogging and getting things done.

I normally did to do lists on small pieces of paper and throw them away, now it is nice to see what I did on a certain day. I love the whole idea of the Bullet Journal, I think it is such a useful resource and so easy to use!

Have you heard of the Bullet Journal and do you use it?
Thanks for being awesome,

TY Thursday #8 That's The End of That

Hey!
I know, I know, it has been a while since I have updated you with what has been going on in TY but to be honest there hasn't been that much going on that I wanted to share with you and things I wanted to share with you, I made a whole blog post about (HERE, HERE and HERE).

I had my Grad Night last Thursday (19th), it was good craic, it was not everyone's cup of tea as everyone had to speak about something, I few people got out of it but for me I ended up having to o up three times but I didn't mind. I was asked last minute by my TY co-ordinator to present a gift to one of the parents as she offered my year a CPR course and we all found it very useful. I was a bit nervous as I was given the speech 15 minutes before I had to go up on stage.

Sorry this photo is really bad quality but I took it from my school's Twitter
The second time I had to go up, I was singing a song a wrote called The TY Song, everyone really liked it and at the end some of my class and teachers came up to tell me that they liked it, I found that very nice and encouraging. The third and final time I had to go was for the finale, 10 TYs sang Viva La Vida by Coldplay and Counting Stars by One Republic. It was a nice way to end the evening.

Another thing that goes on for Grad Night is the Banter Awards, it is basically where everyone gets an award from Rear of the Year to Bookworm what makes it hilarious is that the terribly photoshopped pictures that go along with the awards. Unfortunately, we weren't allowed to do it at the Grad Night as it would go on too long so they were given out the day before. I got Swiftie of the Year which is kinda true.

I am sad TY is over but I am glad to be getting back to the routine of things, I can hear my fifth year self wanting to kill me! It isn't all rainbows and unicorns unfortunately, even though it wasn't academically stressful, there was other stress factors. I have come to learn that no one really understands me fully as a person but I will go into depth in that next week when I talk about things I have learned from TY.

This year has been a great year for my blog, I have had plenty of time for working on my content, interacting with other Bloggers (I have been doing 5 Twitter chats a week!) and getting better at taking photos.

As I was flicking through my English folder I found a letter that I wrote to my future self and one of the things I wanted to achieve was getting 4,000 views on my blog, well I surpassed that completely by over double!

I have still a few things left on my bucket list to do, some of them I won't be able to completely within the time frame, I will try though!

You already probably know what my highlights of the year are as I have talked about them so much about them. It would have to be my school tour to Barcelona and the play I did called The Wedding. If you got that right, 10 points for your Hogwarts House!

Little known fact, my new sign off is actually what one of the teachers said to me in the hotel when we were in Barcelona. I personally get on with this teacher as she is a unique character. I was doing up the first Barcelona post I thought it would be an awesome sign off. A bit of a ramble but I think it is a cute story.

Thanks for being awesome,

Empties #5

Hey!
It is time for another empties as I have a few products that I finished up in the past few months and I want to share my thoughts on them.

Skincare

Simple Kind To Skin Replenishing Moisturiser

I've always liked Simple skincare products but since it is coming more into the Summer, I wanted something with SPF in it. I liked this moisturiser, I found it kept my skin nice and moisturised without feeling sticky and I could use it day or night.

The Body Shop Lip Butter in Coconut

I am so sad this is all gone, for such a small container you wouldn't think it could last over a year! I love the smell of The Body Shop's Coconut range, it is one of my favourite scents. I liked to use this lip butter overnight as it is quite thick and I found I could still smell it the next morning when I woke up. I am definitely going to repurchase it, if I can find it.

Neutrogena Visibly Clear Pink Grapefruit Facial Wash

I have had this bottle for over 2 years and I was just using it up just to get out of my collection, I have a lot of things that are just have used and left. Two years ago I used to be obsessed with this facial wash but now I find that it is ok, I have found better ones.

Lush Fresh Face Mask Love Lettuce

I have normal to dry skin and this helped if I had any flaky or dry areas around my face. It isn't the nicest smelling face mask, compared to Cupcake, but it acts as a great moisturiser and exfoliator. You also get to look like The Hulk for 15 minutes and I'm not complaining about that. The next time I'm in Lush, I hope to get this again.

Makeup

Rimmel London Wake Me Up Concealer

It's weird to say that I had no major opinion on this concealer possibly because it is a brightening concealer and since I am as pale as the brightning shade, it didn't brighten anything. As an under eye concealer it was ok, it did the job but my dark under eye circles didn't disappear out of thin air.

Catrice Prime & Fine Anti Red Base Primer

I am the tomato Snapchat Lense, I have some redness on my face, around my cheeks and forehead, this primer helped to calm it down. Since I have so much redness, it didn't get rid of it completely but it helped. A little goes a long way with this product and it lasted a long time.

Haircare

Herbal Essences Dry Shampoo Ignite My Colour

This is one of my favourite dry shampoos, it doesn't leave you with that horrible looking white cast, it smells amazing and it actually works. I found with some dry shampoos, mainly Batiste, it wouldn't do anything for my hair. This one makes my hair look and feel as if I had just washed it. I have another one already on the go, so does that show how much I like it?

What are in your empties?

Starlight Blogger Award

Hey!
Ailish from Ailish Elizabeth tagged me to do the Starlight Blogger Award, thanks Ailish, it is a tag where you answer three questions, that the blogger who tagged you to do created, and then you write three questions and tag six more bloggers.

What is your favourite thing you have ever done?

How can I pick just one thing...... I'm going to simplify this for myself a bit as I would have to think about this for two months before coming back with an answer, my favourite thing that I have done this year has definitely been doing the play 'The Wedding', I know I have spoken about it a lot and I have even a post about it (Click HERE). It has been one of this highlights for me this year as I had so much fun getting to know other people and getting to be a total drama queen.

What is your favourite makeup product?

Hand's down Too Faced Chocolate Bar Eye Shadow Palette, I have wanted this forever and my Mam and Dad kindly got it for me for my birthday. I haven't got it very long but I'm already in love with it, firstly it smells like chocolate, the eye shadows look amazing and they last on my eyelids for 5+ hours with little to no creasing. I find the sound of the magnetic close really satisfying too.

If you could go to dinner with any celebrity, who would it be and why?

This is another really hard one but thinking about it I would pick Matthew Gray Gubler. I think he is a very interesting, as he does acting, modelling, filmmaking and paint, and unique person, I think we could get on very well.

My Questions:

Favourite book and why?
Share something about your blog that nobody may know.
If you could live in one country for the rest of your life, where would it be and why?

I Nominate:

Aisling (When you come back blogging)
Brittany
I can't think of a sixth but if you would like to do it, I tag you!

Thanks for being awesome,

My Travels: Barcelona Day 3+4

Hey!
This is my last two days in Barcelona, if you would like to read about day 1+2, click HERE.

Day 3: Friday 29th April

This was the most anticipated day of the trip, going to PortAventura. It is the 6th most visited Theme Park in Europe. I am not a rollarcoaster person but I enjoyed the day there. We arrived as the park opened at 10 am and were set free until 7 pm. The park has 4 lands Far West, China, Mexico and Polynesia, in each section there was different music, gift shops, buildings, rollercoasters and food which made it so interesting. I loved looking around at all the buildings.

I'm not much of a rollercoaster person but I ended up going on Furius Baco. At first, I thought I was going to die and as it goes to 83.9mph/144kmph in 3.5 seconds. I finally decided to open my eyes and it wasn't as bad as I originally thought, you go around a few loops and the grand finish is when it goes to a halt before slowly going back to reload. I was a bit scared after getting off it, mostly because I ended up getting stuck, the chair just wouldn't let me go, it took a minute or two before I could finally get out.

Other things I ended up going on were Grand Canyon Rapids (water course), Serpiente Empumada (spinning), Tea Cups, Kontiku (Rocking boat) and Ice Age The 4D Ride. I know that doesn't seem like a lot but when you are wondering around all day, it's enough anyways I wouldn't dare go on Dragon Khan or Shambhala.

The day was so enjoyable as we got to see 2 shows and the final parade which was cute.

We went back to the beach that evening, I still didn't dare go fully into the water as it was cool but I did put my feet in.

Day 4: Saturday 30th April

Today, was the last day and I wasn't prepared to go home yet, well I'm still not and I've been home for nearly 2 weeks.

We left the hotel and went straight into Barcelona's city centre to The Museu Picasso, we had the option of going shopping or going to the museum but I picked the museum as you can go shopping anywhere. I found the Picasso's work very interesting, we didn't get a guided tour but one of the teachers was an art teacher and she told us all about his works. Unfortunately, we weren't allowed to take photos, so I have no photos of this fabulous building. After getting lost on the way back to the bus.

We went to Sagrada Familia, which is a huge basilica that is still being built after 134 years of construction. It is so beautiful and pictures can not show how beautiful it is. It is set to be finished in 2026 as it is the 100th anniversary of Gaudi's death. Gaudi was the main architect of the Sagrada Familia.

That was it.... I didn't want to say goodbye to Barcelona just yet but as we headed for the airport there was nothing I could do. I always wondered why TYs from my school would make such a fuss about their foreign trip but I now know why, it was so enjoyable, I feel like I have bonded with my year and the amazing teachers that came with us, the places we went to were amazing.

In my mind I'm still there, having octopus and shrimp for dinner, trying to communicate with people who spoke no English and I no Spanish, having fun in PortAventura. I had never been to Spain before but this trip has left an impression on me.

Don't forget to be awesome,

My Travels: Barcelona Day 1+2

Hey!
I am back from my school tour in Barcelona, you may have noticed that I went MIA for a few days on social media, I tried to Snapchat my trip but unfortunately that didn't work out too well as you had to pay for hotel WiFi, crazy I know! I was in Barcelona for 4 days in total, if I were to write on post on the 4 days, it would go on forever, so I am going to put it into 2 parts, one this week, obviously, and the next one next week 14th. I hope you enjoy the post, if you have any questions about the trip, comment below or contact me, there are several ways.

Day 1: Wednesday 27th April

Getting up at 1 am to get a bus to the airport was exciting, I never had to be up so early in my life. We headed up to Dublin Airport to get the 6:15 am flight to Barcelona. I was so excited but a little nervous, I used to be terrified of flying but now I just get a little anxious. Thankfully, there was no delay with the flights as we arrived on time. By this stage I was tired, being up for nearly 10 hours before 12 am is hard.

Olympic Stadium
We went on a full day sightseeing of Barcelona, to the Olympic Stadium, Poble Espangol and a few more places but I can't think of the names. I loved Poble Espangol which is a Spanish village that was created to show what the traditional type of buildings were.

Poble Espangol
It was so beautiful, I wish we had more than an hour there as there was so much to see. Of course, there was a little bit of shopping done, we went to the MareMagnum shopping centre.

The hotel was in Salou, so we went out to the beach that evening even though everyone was tired out of their minds. As we were walking to the beach all the locals would ask 'were we Irish' as we stood out big time being in shorts with pale skin.

I was so glad to see my bed that night as it ended up being a 22 hour day.

Day 2: Thursday 28th April

It rained, I repeat it rained in Spain! We headed for Montserrat which is a monastery on Montserrat Mountain. There was an option to go on the cable car and of course I did, the view wasn't good but it looked like you were in a horror movie as all you could see was fog.

Montserrat was beautiful, what you could see of the scenery was spectacular and the church was beautiful.
Me pretending to climb over the railing. There was a ten meter drop but you couldn't see it as of the fog
Next was the Cosmocaixa Science Museum which is a huge science museum in the middle of Barcelona.

There was even a rainforest in it with loads animals in it which I was really surprised about. The museum had a had on approach to things which made everyone 100% more interesting than reading something off the wall, you could also try out how it works.

That evening, we went to House of Illusion which was a magic show, I know that sounds childish but it was amazing. There was another Irish school there and a group of Thomas Cook Reps. The magicians were spectacular as the acts were truly mind blowing, they used cards, forks, money, iPhones, bottles of wine, handcuffs. It was a very enjoyable show and it was definitely one of the highlights of the trip for me.

That's everything that happened in the day 1 and 2 of my Barcelona trip.
Thanks for being awesome,
